Today, I did not eat any gluten and my stomach ache has subsided. I will continue this experiment to see what happens. Sometimes people actually lose weight when giving up gluten -- a side effect of gluten intolerance does appear to be weight gain. Wouldn't it be nice to lose weight that easily?? Probably won't happen to me, but I can hope.
The days are long, but the years are short. This is my attempt to take joy in each day because I know they fly by too quickly.

A little awareness can be dangerous
Yesterday I posted about my concerns that I may be sensitive to gluten in foods. I didn't eat much gluten through the day, but for dinner, I did eat a pasta meal from the freezer. Within just a few minutes, my stomach really hurt. Taylor had described the pain as like a stitch in your side when you run, and that is exactly what was happening. Once I mentally identified what I was feeling was actual pain, I realized that when I usually feel it, I interpret it as a need to continue eating. I guess I've been self-medicating the pain with more food. It isn't enough pain to really register on my over-taxed brain, but once I noticed it, there was no denying the feeling. My stomach ached most of the night and into this morning.
